Brantford to Port Dover by Rail Trail

I bet you did not know that you can ride all the way from Hamilton Downtown and stay on Rail Trails. Several times this year we have ridden from Hamilton to Brantford rail trail.

This past Sunday and Monday we did a trip from Brantford to Port Dover and return to complete this route. Now don't get too excited.

Not all of the route is paved. Most of it is limestone screenings. But it is all smooth and good for 20 kph. since it's basically flat.

There is always enough time to sample the wild apples.

Colorful barn along the way.

Killer Crop - tobacco, is still grown down in this area south of Hamilton Ontario. But many farmers have switched to Soy Beans.

Here is a view of the Waterford Lakes from the train bridge shown below.

A well maintained bridge along the trail. In the background are many huge grain elevators that once filled trains which no longer pass by the elevators.
