A Wind Turbine blade on the way to the Kansas wind farm. On this morning it was rainy - we waited until 9 a.m. to roll out. So far we've ridden in only a half day of rain total over a month of riding.
At 220,000 lb, this turbine tower section (takes 3 to make a tower) requires its' own custom truck with 46 wheels to carry the weight.
Grain Elevators are filled with the wheat crops that have already been harvested. We have gotten on the road before sunrise for teh last week or so, in an effort to beat the winds that build up later in the day.
Power from those winds.
Beef is usually raised in feed lots out here. Having grown up on a farm, having had to clean the barn out many days, I have no problem with the smell of manure (farmer's perfume). I do have a problem with the awful smell from these feed lots, which smells nothing like I'm used to.
